Textual content description offered by the architects. The previous historic picket church of Ylivieska tragically burned down in 2016. The residents of the small city had been shocked and devastated. The native parish shortly determined {that a} new church constructing was wanted to consolation and help the group. K2S Architects was chosen to design the brand new church by way of an open structure competitors in 2017.

The brand new church of Ylivieska types a visual landmark to the city environment of the Kalajokilaakso space. The constructing mass is split into three elements with gabled roofs – the church corridor, the sacristy, and the doorway foyer.

The church corridor is clad with wooden, bringing heat to the environment of the area. The symmetrical, gabled type of the church corridor is constantly being formed and structured by mild from the skylight alongside the ridge and the oblique pure mild on the altar recess. Modern structure and constructing custom are equally current additionally within the inside of the church.
