The Container, Kochi Muziris Biennale 2023 / Samira Rathod Design Atelier
Textual content description supplied by the architects. Regardless of colossal demolition and the particles it creates, constructing exercise continues to stay indispensable. Architectural considering should evolve round sustainability, recycling supplies, and assets.
The pavilion is a container of hope.
It’s constructed on twin narratives – one of many particles from ruthless demolition, and one other of the poetics of building – an trustworthy admission of supplies and strategies of creating buildings which regularly stay hidden beneath its pores and skin, unknown.
The constructing unfolds as a big house beneath a singular roof that touches the bottom, impressed by the various roofs of Kochi.
This non permanent construction treads frivolously, because it stands with none concrete footings, and could also be dismantled to retrieve all of its materials which may be reused or re-assembled once more elsewhere.
It’s via this materials and technique, we need to have fun, and produce forth the ache, danger, and challenges which can be confronted within the manifestation of structure, an consequence we deem lovely.
