Textual content description supplied by the architects. A spa-villa-restaurant advanced hooked up to Snow Peak’s headquarters in Sanjo, Niigata. It makes an attempt an architectural translation of Snow Peak’s philosophy of shifting the middle of human exercise from indoors to outside.


The roof of the constructing is lined as much as echo the elegant ridge in entrance of the towering Awagatake, one among Japan’s 300 most well-known mountains, and the eaves are lined with a fabric that symbolizes the tenting way of life: firewood. 20,000 items of firewood are seamlessly steady inside and outdoors, giving the constructing a “wildness” that isn’t usually present in structure.



Contained in the constructing, we tried to attach the earth and the structure as one by utilizing clay partitions coated with soil from the location, discarded components from a {hardware} manufacturing facility well-known for its native business in Sanjo, and Corten metal.
