Large Roof is an outsized backyard pergola designed by 1+1+ Architects and HD Structural that hosts eating and occasions for Coriander Kitchen & Farm, a farm-to-table restaurant positioned alongside a canal within the Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood of Detroit, Michigan.


Extending Coriander Kitchen & Farm’s eating house into the outside, the construction evokes an open relationship with environmental circumstances at its waterside website. A supersized backyard pergola nicknamed after its most outstanding characteristic, Large Roof collects rainwater for a rain backyard onsite.
