This single-family home is a part of one of many oldest sections of Witikon, an outlying neighborhood on a panoramic south-facing slope with a view of Zurich. The compact cubic constructing was inbuilt 1927 and is characterised by the Heimatstil and neoclassical architectural types. The prevailing constructing has been restored, transformed, and prolonged on the bottom and basement flooring with a brand new addition.

Enhancements and higher lighting of the highest flooring have been achieved by enlarging the skylights and opening up the attic areas. A spacious kitchen and a eating space are situated on the extension’s floor flooring and a studio is within the basement. A further inner staircase within the extension connects the 2 ranges and the decrease backyard space with the bottom flooring.


The extension was constructed as a 2-story metal skeleton construction on a bolstered concrete base. Its filigree and industrial character come from the usage of a window system made from slim profiles with outward-opening casements.
